Tan Chong Poh

Mr Tan Chong Poh co-founded Frontier Danceland in 1991 and is currently the President of the company. A Public Utilities Board scholar in 1986 and 1992, he completed his Bachelors Degree in Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University and his Masters in Science at the National University of Singapore. He is a registered professional engineer with the Singapore Professional Engineers Board

Chong Poh had an outstanding career in the arts. He was principal dancer with the National Dance Company performed with them in Asean, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, Belgium and Russia. In 1977 – 1981, he was awarded a scholarship to study classical ballet at the Singapore Ballet Academy and had also completed courses on “Arts Administration” and “Dance Criticism and Movement Analysis” whilst studying in Hong Kong.

In 1994 -1996, Chong Poh was appointed by the National Arts Council as a member of the Arts Resource Panel and he is presently a committee member of the Singapore Arts Federation. Chong Poh is also constantly invited to be a member of the panel of judges in the Malaysia Chinese Festival of Dance and he is a dance critic for a local Chinese newspaper.

Low Mei Yoke

Ms Low Mei Yoke is the co-founder of Frontier Danceland and is presently the artistic director and choreographer of the company. Under her direction, Frontier Danceland gained professional status in 2011.

With a unique style that fuses Eastern dance aesthetics with Western dance movements, Low’s choreography focuses on honest portrayals of human emotions, zeal and relentless drive. Her works are contemplative, evoking reflection and introspection, and are celebrated for being bold, imaginative and thought-provoking. She also enjoys creating works that represent Singapore’s vibrant and diverse society.

Wang Yunyu

Ms Wang Yunyu is Frontier Danceland’s overseas advisor. Currently the Executive Director of Chin-Lin Foundation for Cultural and Arts in Taiwan, Yunyu has served as the Vice-President of the World Dance Alliance, Asian-Pacific since 2007.

Yunyu serves on the summer faculty for the Tsoying Summer Intensive where her choreographed works have been presented at the World Dance Alliance / International Dance Conference in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and Indonesia. She is a founding dancer of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre in Taiwan from 1973 to 1981 and her achievements include chief dance artistic director and choreographer for the 2009 World Games in Taiwan and project leader of a 1.5 million dance technology project in Taipei National University of the Arts, Taiwan from 2006 to 2009.
